Born in Kingston, Ontario, Pastor Cal is an avid hockey fan with dual citizenship. Prior to his arrival in Sioux Falls in 2004, he served two churches in Chicago. Cal and his wife, Carla, have three daughters.

Since 2007, Kristi has worked at First CRC in various roles. She enjoys camping and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Jamey, have three children and 2 dogs.

Melissa Prins

After nearly 20 years in the financial industry, Melissa joined the staff in 2015, coordinating small group ministries and helping welcome visitors and new members. She and her husband, Trent have three sons.

Kaitlin joined the staff in 2014 as ministry assistant and receptionist. Kaitlin ensures a support environment for the overall ministry. In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles, video games, and reading.

Heather Buys

Heather has spent the last ten years working with kids, both in a classroom setting and childcare. She lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Nate and their three children.

Gabby Eckardt

Gabby joined the staff in July 2019. She has been helping lead worship for over 15 years in different capacities including planning and leading worship. When not working, Gabby enjoys baking, cooking, biking, and watching “cop” shows.

Born and raised in Canada, Al has served in Christian education for over 20 years as a teacher and coach. He enjoys all things “handyman”, as well as spending time with his wife, Sherra and their four children, Noah, Kylah, Jude and Titus.

Megan Schouten

Megan joined staff in June of 2018. Megan worked with Youth With A Mission in Australia for a year, completing certificates in Discipleship and Assessment & Training. Megan enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with family and her dog, Shiloh.

Cole Pleggenkuhle

Raised in Iowa, Cole has worked for several years with youth who have been abused, neglected and struggle behaviorally. Cole enjoys reading, distance running and playing chess. Cole and his wife, Allison, look forward to summer days at Okoboji.
