“Getting your hands dirty.” “Where the rubber meets the road.” These catch phrases get at the need in our lives to move from just words and rhetoric to action. The writer of James reminds us that “faith without deeds is dead.” While there are many leadership philosophies and ideologies out there, the Bible puts forth what many consider to be THE most inherent leadership principle known to us: servanthood. When we with selflessness and stewardship guide our time, treasure, and talents towards the building up of others, we step into the abundant life Jesus speaks of that flows from gospel living. This week we consider what it means to be “feet washers and towel handlers” as leaders and influencers for God’s Kingdom here on earth.
